WHAT TO BRING
The list below includes items that are recommended for the ceremonies and jungle living at Flower of Life Ayahuasca Healing Center:
– Headlamp with red-light function (This is very important for the ceremony).
– Water bottle/canteen.
– Natural body products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste).
– Natural insect repellent.
– Sunscreen.
– Raincoat/poncho.
– Breathable long-sleeve/pants for jungle walks.
– Casual/active/comfortable warm-weather attire.
– Swimwear.
– Ceremonial clothing; it is preferable to bring some white (or at least light-colored) clothing during the ceremonies, as this will help the shamans work on you and find you in the dark.
– Outdoor shoes.
– Sandals/flip-flops.
– Sun hat.
– Notebook for journaling.
– Batteries.
– Lighter.
– Watch.
– Ziploc bags of various sizes to protect your belongings from humidity.
– Ziploc bags with rice to protect electronics from humidity.
– For women: sanitary napkins or tampons.
– For women and our longer-haired male guests: hair ties or rubber bands (Long hair can be distracting in ceremonies, and you may wish to have it tied up).
– Art supplies.
– Books (preferably spiritual books or books with a positive tone and message).
• Power Object: You may wish to bring an object such as a crystal or stone that you can carry with you into the ceremony as something you connect with and that provides you with strength, positivity, and good intentions.
• Extra cash for tipping staff and buying gifts, crafts, Shipibo clothing, or tapestries made by the locals and sold at the center.
November-April is the rainy season at the Flower of Life Ayahuasca Peru Retreat Center, so the temperatures are typically milder, but mosquitoes tend to be more abundant during that time. May-October is the dry season at the center, so it tends to be hotter, but there are fewer mosquitoes. Regardless of when you come, there is the potential for temperatures to rise during the day and then drop quite drastically at night. The jungle climate is unpredictable, and we recommend coming prepared for all conditions. There is no best time of year to come, as there is a good mix of sun and clouds throughout the year; this just depends on your personal preference regarding the above information.
Flower of Life Ayahuasca Peru Retreat Center is located right on the river. As such, you do not require boots for a hike in. If you ever want boots for jungle walks and exploring, we will provide them for you.
“The most important thing is that your soul is ready for this profound journey.”
